Assalamu-Alaykum (Peace be Upon You)
How lucky are we that we are Muslims?
Indeed we are, but do we realise that? The answer is simple - just have a look at your life, and see if in all your actions, speech, thoughts and desires, you reflect the personality of a Muslim - the personality of Muhammad (PBUH).
It could be argued that the Muslim of today is unaware of the spiritual wealth that he possesses and can be likened to the baby who, when given a diamond in one hand and a lollipop in the other, chooses the lollipop because it does not yet understand the value of the diamond.
This, then, is the state of the Muslim of today - ditching the diamond of Allah’s Mercy and Jannat-ul-Firdaus (Paradise) for the lollipop that is the Dunya (World) and all its seedy, short lived pleasures, because he does not yet understand the value and fundamental importance of Islam.
May Allah forgive us and give us the love and correct understanding of Islam. Ameen.
