The Ups and Downs of Life

853704_happy_2.jpgAssalamu-Alaykum (Peace be Upon you)

Everybody has their own story don’t they? Everybody’s got their own tale to tell.

Just think of all the things that have happened in your life…

And think back, think back to how you felt when all those things happened.

Remember the grin that spread across your face when you passed your exams and the sincerity of the way you said Alhumdulillah (all Praise belongs to Allah).

And if you feel up to it, recall all those horrible, evil thoughts that flashed into your head, adding to the misery of whatever it was that made you feel down when you received a certain piece of bad news.

Indeed, Allah has made the life of this world a test – a test which takes man through dizzying highs and bottomless lows – the test of all tests, the ultimate examination.

And so, through thick and thin, we must keep on turning to Allah. As much as we possibly can, we must make Allah our confidant, our shoulder to cry on.

Whether it’s good news or whether it’s bad news, Allah should be the First One we tell, the First One we confide in. And in this, the measurement of the strength of our Imaan (Faith) is taken…

It goes without saying that Allah is looking at us, looking at our hearts. He is looking to see where we will turn to when good comes our way, who we will celebrate with. Will we celebrate as a Muslim should and thank Allah, or will we celebrate and forget about Allah who sent us this happiness?

Or when it is bad news – who will we turn to, who will we confide in? Will we bear our grief with patience and steadfastness as Muslims, or will we turn to quick fix schemes in the hope of forgetting about it, or even worse still, will we blame Allah?

And as is the nature of this world, all good things, and all bad things will eventually come to an end. The party will always finish, the drought will always pass.

So, lets thank Allah for all the things He has made easy in this life, and do such good deeds, and live such noble lives as Muslims, that we guarantee the next life full of nothing but happiness.

And Allah knows best.

Dear friends, The worst of the trials and tribulations are/were reserved for the prophets some of which were skinned alive and cut into pieces by their own people.

Thus, hym, glorify & celebrate the praises of Allah & spend in his way in happiness & adversity and attain the rank of the Muhsineen.
