ThinkThank Tank!

It is without a shadow of a doubt that we are constantly immersed in the bounties which Allah has blessed us with…

Everybody but everybody is always enjoying one of the Ne’mahs (bounties, gifts) of Allah. Whether that be a millionaire cruising in his luxury yacht, a businessman working hard or a beggar working the streets.

Now you might ask, what bounties does a beggar have? He is having to beg for his food.

Indeed, not having to beg for your food is an amazing gift from Allah (something which most if not all of us have), but even to beg you need a mouth, a tongue, arms, legs – what if you didn’t have any one of these?

And if you have ever been to a place like India, Pakistan or any Third World country, you will at this point be reminding yourself of how you did actually see beggars who were paraplegic, or could not talk and merely beckoned to you for a few of your pennies…

So I invite my readers to take a step back with me and just think about all the things we do and have on a daily basis – I invite you all to think about the Ne’mahs Allah has blessed us all with.

Because thinking leads to thanking, and when we realise and accept that everything we have is from Allah and thank Him for it, then it will lead us to humility and Shukr (gratefulness). Humility because we realise that everything is a special favour and Mercy from Allah , and Shukr because we understand that out of all the people in the world, Allah has blessed us with it.

Indeed Allah has spoken the truth when He said:

And He gave you of all that you asked for, and if you count the Blessings of Allâh, never will you be able to count them.

Q: Surah Ibraheem: Verse 34

And it is especially at these times, when the average person in the UK is swimming in day-to-day luxuries which most people in other countries take a lifetime to acquire, that we should be thinking of those who are less fortunate. Those who are in Darfur, in Bangladesh, in Palestine, in Iraq to name but a few countries. In Bangladesh, the recent cyclone has affected 1 million families and 3,100 people have died.

And so if we can, we should give – we should give as much as we can according to our capacity and ask Allah to accept whatever we have given and pray that it becomes a means of helping those who are in need.

May Allah accept all our efforts and all Praises belong to Allah for all our Ne’mahsAlhumdulillah.

Then, on that Day, you shall be asked about the delight[] (you indulged in, in this world)! (At-Takathur 102:8)

  2. Allah-u-Akbar! What reply shall we give?

  3. JazakAllah for sharing.
