T’s New Year Resolution…

Ahh a new year! So what does this new year bring for us?

For many people it’s a fresh start to their life, to try and accomplish new things, etc. Indeed, many people will have made a new year’s resolution; to lose weight, or to get a new job, spend less – so many resolutions are made.

Personally I think resolutions are a good thing. We should take this opportunity to evaluate and analyse the previous year and see how much we have achieved, but not just in terms of worldly things – no.

I think it is just as important that we analyse our Imaan (Faith) and how much we have done for our religion? How much closer can I get to Allah? How much more can I give to help those in need? How much more Qur’an can I pray? How many new Sunnah (way of the Prophet PBUH) can I implement in my life? My personal resolution for the year is to go for Hajj this year – Insha-Allah (with the Will of Allah).

Like every year at work, we get given Personal Objectives or PDP’s to try and achieve I personally think as Muslims we need to draw a set of objectives at the start of the year too.

We should take a few minutes out of our lives and really think, ‘how I can improve?’ And take this opportunity to sit down and think and prioritise. Insha-Allah by doing so it will make it easier to carry out Allah’s commands and get us closer to him.

May Allah make it easier to do so.

  1. I would also like to go Hajj this year inshallah so please make dua. I would also like to give a lot more time to charity projects.

I think this is a great time to reflect on how lucky we are.

May all your Dua’s be accepted.

May Allah make it easy for us all to achieve our goals for the coming year.

  2. Inshallah gaj.
Would love to hear what other resolutions people have made.

  3. Insha-Allah count me in for Hajj – insha-Allah!

  4. my new year resolution – be more punctual in salat (first takbeer) & put on weight.

  5. The sky is my shelter, earth is my bedding, the feet of the beast is my transport and hunger is my food, yet there is no 1 in this world who is more contented than me.
