I totally agree with you brother Siddique and brother Elyas,

I really do not know what to say... We all need to unite and take what ever actions we can to stop all this pain and suffering in the world.

As Mahatma Gandhi once said
A man is the sum of his actions, of what he has done, of what he can do. Nothing else.

There is something every one can do, it may be supplication to Allah (God), taking part in peaceful protests, writing to your MP etc... the list is endless.

By the way, a must read on the BBC web site Propaganda war: trusting what we see? by Paul Reynolds.

I respectfully and totally agree.

We are all from the same human family. Our colour, creed, language and background are immaterial. What matters is what we feel. What Brings a human into being? Surely it is our capacity to FEEL the pain of others. To not turn a blind eye, the need to help, to intervene, to stop, to SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH AND TO SAY NOT IN OUR NAME.

The indiscriminate firing of hamas rockets is as unjustified as the Israeli army's heavy, sustained & as the casualty figures reveal equally indiscriminate bombardement of and at the people of GAZA using a lethal & sohisitcated arsenal of weaponry deployed from land, sea & air.

But on any fair, objective & impartial human analysis, The turning of gaza into rubble, the wholsale murder of countless innocent men, women and children and the terrorising from land, air and sea of an entire people cannot in any way be described as a proportionate or necessary response in lawful self defence.

So I do weep for the people of gaza. I weep for the loss of ANY innocent life the world over. I WEEP TOO FOR THOSE AMONGST THE HUMAN FAMILY WHO PERPETRATE SUCH CALLOUS AND COLD BLOODED EVIL yet seek to justify and defend their murderous ways.

BUT ABOVE ALL I WEEP THE MOST FOR THOSE AMONGST THE HUMAN FAMILY WHOM WE THE PEOPLE HAVE ENTRUSTED INTO SEATS OF POWER AND WHO HAVE THE POWER TO STOP AT AN INSTANCE SUCH MINDLESS & WHOLSALE SLAUGHTER - YET WHO SAY AND DO NOTHING, WHO TURN THE OTHER CHEEK AND WHO ALLOW THE BRUTALITY TO GO ON.

This is not a time for global power games, OR FOR THE SURFACING OF OUR USUAL SUBJECTIVE HUMAN PREJUDICES OR for taking the side of those on whose side we are and want to be seen to be on, this is not about votes and which lobby or pressure group is stronger, It is not even about whose life it is -

For all decent human beings ALL human life is AND MUST AT ALL TIMES BE sacred -

IT IS THEREFORE ABOUT THE PRESERVATION OF ALL HUMAN LIFE AND IT IS THUS HIGH TIME TO PUT A STOP TO THE SHEDDING OF THESE TEARS OF BLOOD!!!!!!!!

IS THERE ANY POWER ON EARTH BIG ENOUGH & HUMAN ENOUGH TO STOP THIS UNFOLDING & APPALLING HUMAN TRAGEDY???!!!

Yours tearfully, Elyas

Mashallah
Just as brother sid has said we pray for peace, the least we can do is to remember them in our prayers.
Many of you will be aware collections are taking place throughout the community and there is one scheduled for Friday after Jumah at Masjid-e-Hidayah, so let us all pray and do what we can.
